Eliminating obesity and it's related illnesses, health conditions and diseases is not just my goal, it's my mission, calling and my passion. I guess really it's my ministry. You see, I was once morbidly obese and suffered from a few of its related health issues. I had severe sleep apnea, high blood pressure, diabetes and arthritis. My obesity prevented me from enjoying life the way I really desired to.

It imprisioned me for over two decades. See me before and after my struggle with obesity.

By the grace of God I was set free and and now my mission is to teach others how to unlock the bonds of obesity so they too can experience all life has to offer.

My experience as a morbidly obese person has given me great insight into the world of the overweight and obese.

If you are 30 to 50 pounds over weight you fit right in with the majority of Americans. You consider your self normal,  sure you realize you need to drop a few pounds but your weight has not become to heavy of a burden to you. You plan every year to do something about it but life always gets in the way. If you do manage to do something about it you choose the diet that will give you the quickest results. Like all Americans we want instant everything.

If you are more than 100 pounds overweight, your life is much different than those that are just overweight.  You are morbidly obese and live in a much different world.  We have failed at dieting so many times we feel no hope, no chance that we can have a normal life.  So why go through the humility and shame again.

Many people outside of our world think our obesity s is caused because we love to eat more than we wish to live a normal life.  They consider us lazy and of less intelligence.  What they never realize is how badly we want to be normal. I hated scouting out restaurants and other public places just to make sure they had chairs that would fit and support my girth.  Being obese, we feel the stares and the prejudice that comes with the condition. No one in their right mind wants to be obese.  I delt wih my condition by joking about it, it always breaks the ice.

The current health trends in this country show a decrease in health and wellness across a broad spectrum of health categories.

We now have children under 12 years of age with high cholesterol, type II diabetes and hypertension. In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics recently updated their policy to now recommend that children between the ages of 2 and 10 should be screened for high cholesterol, if they or their family members are overweight or have experienced high blood fat profiles.

Young adults are developing degenerative disease earlier than ever. Adults in general have higher rates of heart and cardiovascular disease than most industrialized nations. Obesity is growing and diabetes is now reaching epidemic rates.

This demands and calls for an urgent paradigm shift in our culture. We must become active in our lifestyle and involved in the process of managing dietary needs for ourselves and our families.

The diet and weight loss industry is a huge business. Health clubs, bariatric centers and diet system empires count on you to repeat the process many times. if you are 30 pounds or less over weight these ypes of systems may indeed fill your need and you may be able to keep it off.

As obese people we cycle through the doors every few years. It's called yo-yo dieting and it has a very negative effect of our metabolism. Less than 5% keep the weight off longer than 5 years.  More often than not, each time you go back to the diet routine you are little heavier than the last time you started. If you are lucky and have enough will power you might be able to keep it off or at the least, not gain more than your starting weight. Through this process, I managed to stair step my weight up to 436pounds
